VagaFide 2016 Movember Feedback
If you missed the VagaFide2016 Movember event at Copperlake Breweries you missed out! How can we report back on an evening that managed to raise R4000, give away over R15000 worth of prizes & involved custom craft beer & burgers consumed around a beer pong table without using the word fun? The VagaFide 2016 event was nothing but a good time & a cross-pollination of fantastic people; thank you to everyone that showed up & supported the initiative.
Too often we complain that there is not enough done to promote the sport of fly fishing or to create opportunities to gather & discuss our passion for all things on fly. We are proud to say we achieved both on 24 November 2016. Not only did we showcase fly fishing to the event goers & local patrons at Copperlake Brewing Co in Broadacres, we also joined two passionate communities; those from Bonafide Motor Co who are as equally obsessed with vintage motor cycles as we are about chasing fish with fly rods.
Next year’s event promises to be bigger, more hairy & an absolute blast.
With special thanks
Copperlake Brewing Co.
This event would not be possible without the assistance from Copperlake Brewing Co. Not only did they allow us to create a beer & burger, and host our event free of charge, they also donated all proceeds from the Movember Porter & all Beer Pong takings to the cause. Copperlake Brewing Co not only brew superb beer, they got behind the movement in a big way. Brendan, Brett & David… Thank you.
Bonafide Beards & Barbers
Bonafide as a collective (Beards, Motor Co & Barbers) promoted the event on their social pages, offered to keep the Vagabond Fly editors shaved up & dapper for the event and also donated greatly to the Movember cause with prizes & advice. The success of this event was largely due to their involvement & dedication to the cause. Thank you to Joe & Alan.
Greys Fishing (Pure Fishing South Africa)
Greys Fishing happily donated a premium 9wt rod & reel combo to the Movember VagaFide cause. We have been working with Greys throughout 2016 & when called upon they, without hesitation, agreed to get involved. Great fishing rods doing superb things for the community, what more could you ask from a brand?
From the outset the gentlemen at Flyworx got behind the VagaFide 2016 movement. They contacted us to offer prizes & grew out two incredible moustaches to ensure they practiced what they preached. South African made dubbing, produced with all the passion with which they supported Movember. We will be tying using their products guaranteed! Thank you Rod & Freddy.
